Our client is one of Australia’s largest general cargo ports. Facing the need to adapt to a growing population, economy, and urban footprint, the port embarked upon a digital transformation to reimagine how they fulfill their mission: facilitating trade for a more prosperous state.
Our client needed to create a long-term strategic roadmap and plan to digitally transformation their port operations. An essential part of this was the need to improve data governance to reduce the likelihood of data mismanagement, compliance issues, and operational inefficiencies.
To realise the value from a new data governance framework, the leadership team knew they would need to promote good data citizenship across the port and ensure all key stakeholders understood the role they needed to play.
The port initially brought in DataDivers to help them establish their future vision for digital port operations at a broad level, which included a high-level architecture and roadmap for implementation. This also involved developing their IT strategy and roadmap, as well as building a data governance framework.
DataDivers were then asked to return to deliver tailored data governance training for key stakeholders. Our team was selected off the back of our significant ports experience and leading roles in providing data governance for major organisations around the globe.
Since the initial round of data governance training took place, our team has been engaged to continue this capability uplift through additional training sessions that have included all levels of stakeholders at the port.
The data governance framework and ongoing training has enabled:
